Publication Fees

The Journal of Holistic Medicine (JHM) relies on publication fees to support its operations. The following fees apply for articles accepted in 2024:

  • Standard Publication Fee: $1,800
  • Open Choice Fee: $2,700 (Authors may choose this option to make their article freely available to all readers upon publication. Open Choice articles will carry a CC-BY license and will be highlighted as “Free Access” in the table of contents.)

These fees help cover the costs of the editorial and peer-review processes, as well as production and dissemination. Please note that the corresponding author status at the time of acceptance will determine the applicable fees, and this status cannot be changed post-acceptance to secure a different fee rate.

Payment Information
Publication fees should be paid by credit card. If a credit card cannot be used, a check or wire transfer is accepted, though an additional $25 fee applies for wire transfers. Unfortunately, purchase orders cannot be accepted for publication fees. Accepted manuscripts will not move into production or be published until payment has been received.

Reduced Fees Policy

In an effort to support researchers working in resource-restricted countries and to promote the dissemination of holistic medicine worldwide, JHM offers reduced publication fees for scientists located in countries classified by the World Bank as low-income economies (Category I), lower–middle income economies (Category II), or upper–middle income economies (Category III).

  • Category I Countries: All publication fees are automatically waived for corresponding authors with a work address in these countries.
  • Category II Countries: Publication fees are automatically reduced by 50% for corresponding authors in these countries.
  • Category III Countries: Fees can be reduced upon request for corresponding authors in these countries.

Color Figures

Publishing figures in color enhances the clarity and impact of your research. Online publication of color figures is free of charge. If you wish to publish color figures in print, a fee of $800 applies, covering an unlimited number of figures.

Open Access

Choosing Open Access ensures the widest possible discoverability and accessibility of your work. As part of the vibrant community committed to quality research, transparency, and inclusivity, authors who select Open Access will incur an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $2,700. This option guarantees that your article is freely available to all readers immediately upon publication.
